THE CARE BEHIND A HEALTHY SMILE

10 Tips To Keep Your Teeth Healthy During Halloween.

Halloween might be one of the best times, with everyone dressed differently. It is also particularly damaging to your teeth, given the amount of candy you consume.

Tips To Keep Teeth Healthy On Halloween

You can keep your teeth healthy and shining on Halloween in the following ways:

Practice Moderation

Instead of eating whole candy bars, try eating smaller portions. This way, you can trick your brain into thinking you’re eating large portions rather than many small ones. Overindulgence is never beneficial to your health.

Stay Away From Sweet Snacks

Snacking on sweets increases the risk of plaque build-up and cavities. Snacking on candy all day is bad for your dental health and diet.

Choose Candy Carefully

Choosing the right candies is also essential for your dental health. If you bite too hard on sugar candies or lollipops, your tooth may chip away. Softer candies are easier to chew but can also become stuck between teeth and gums. Sugar-free candies are safer because they contain less sugar.

Drink More Water

Water helps to restore the pH levels in your mouth. This reduces the amount of lactic acid produced by bacteria in your mouth. Water also stimulates saliva production, which helps to wash away plaque.

Avoid Beverages With Added Sugar

There is ubiquitous sugar in carbonated beverages such as Coca-Cola and packaged fruit juices. These beverages have a greater impact on your teeth as you sip them slowly throughout the day. Limiting these beverages can help reduce tooth decay and discoloration.

Brush & Floss Twice A Day

Dentists recommend brushing twice and flossing once daily. This prevents bacteria build-up and also keeps your mouth cleaner. Flossing gets rid of foods and candies stuck between your teeth.

Use Fluorine

Fluorine is known to strengthen your tooth’s enamel layer, which protects your teeth. Fluorine is found in toothpaste, mouthwashes, and tap and bottled water.

Visit Your Dentist

You should visit your dentist some days after Halloween to clean your teeth professionally. This prevents problems and also catches early signs of tooth decay or cavities.

The Bottom Line

Eating massive amounts of something is never a good idea. Having candy moderately and brushing your teeth twice daily can prevent tooth decay. Visiting your dentist for a routine check-up is also good for oral health.

I haven’t gone to the dentist in such a long time so I had a lot of anxiety about my appointment, BUT I had no reason to be nervous! Everyone here was so nice and it was so quick and easy to set up my treatment plan. 10/10, glad I was recommended to go here
